WP 2: Assessing multi-level activities
in water and biodiversity governance

The objectives of this second work package are to deepen the understanding of water and biodiversity governance and to select and analyse case studies.

Its main tasks are

  • to select a first set of cases for further analysis through in-depth interviews, building on the interviews undertaken in the first WP, and in co-operation with the praxis partners. The experienced researchers are responsible to ensure the scientific fertility of the cases.
  • to analyse cases within the non-research institutions along the analysis framework. The understanding of these cases is deepened in visits at praxis partners. The common framework of analysis is used to structure the insights.
  • to integrate the case studies within the wider water and biodiversity governance. The representativity of the selected case studies for the fields of water and biodiversity governance is assessed critically, and missing issues highlighted.

Finally, an assessment of state-of-the-art European water and biodiversity governance will be a main result of this second work package.
